Mayfield Highway Superintendent Mel Dopp has ordered the section of Beech Street stretching from County Highway 146 to Gray Road closed as a portion that runs by the Mayfield Creek has sunk and a portion of the southbound lane has broken off. The creek bed lies some 50 feet below the top of the road. Dopp says the town will take emergency measures to get the road repaired …
Dopp says that he and Mayfield Town Supervisor Rick Argotsinger have been keeping track of all expenses caused by the situation so far. The Mayfield Town Board will be meeting soon to discuss what plans for the repair need to be made. Dopp has been in touch with Mayfield General Contractor Stephen G. Miller to help facilitate needed repairs. The section of Beech Street will remain closed until the repairs can be made.
