The marlin bite continues at Bermagui

The marlin bite continues with the Kink, Tuross, Bermagui Canyons and the Bait Hole producing fish.

Lure fishing whilst appealing is a low percentage play on these 70-90kg Stripes, Livies and skipbaits will greatly enhance your conversion rate.

If your wishing to persist with lures, ensure you drop your leaders down (150-200lb), stick to 6-8inch lures and keep your hooks to SL12's or Katana's or even a single Jobu for a uglier but effective hookup being more likely.

Kingfish have been solid at the Island but these fish have become more Saury centric in recent days and even live Yakka's have failed to produce a bite for some. We have seen some solid Snapper for these here parts taken this week with plenty of fish over 2kg taken around Auguinish rocks.

Better Flathead inshore this week in 30-45m of water. Blue Eye Trevalla are back on the menu with the current easing sufficiently to allow some to fish the deep.

One boat had 5 Blue Eye last weekend and the smallest was 10kg.

Moruya River -

The Bridge has been fishing extremely well during the night, with large flathead and perch attracted to 100mm Red Rum Squidgy Wrigglers.

Tackle World Moruya members Nathan and Justine had a very successful session for bream on poppers along the Rockwall and perch around the boulders. Garland town provided Tackle World Moruya members Mark, Angus and Nelly with numerous catches of whiting, which responded best to live beach worms. If it’s the luderick you’re after, throwing out some greed weed at the Hole in the Wall is your best bet.

Initially, The bride was 25 minutes late to the wedding, (thanks to nerves) but the rest of the day went off without a hitch! The weather both days before and after the wedding was dreadful, (winter wedding) but the actual day was calm, still and surprisingly 5 degrees warmer than usual. We had a lone bagpiper pipe me down the aisle (for my part Scottish heritage) and the Grooms father, Brian, was the Minister who conducted the ceremony. It was a very family orientated affair, with 150 at the Ceremony and around 90 at the reception.
