Valley Squares enjoy busy April at the Aloha Grange | OregonLive ...

What a busy month April was mad for the Valley Squares Aloha Grange.

Saturday, April 2 has been our regular dances at the Grange club with display Aloha Chuck Garner calling our Square Dance Club Mainstream and Cuer Connie Clark marking round dance between the points of square dancing. We had several guest dancers making our dances more fun.

Then we had a tour of the club in Rosetown Ramblers Square Dance Club on the southeast side. They welcomed us with a lively dance.  Sold some tickets to our April 8 Anniversary Dance.

     Then, our 62nd Anniversary Dance on Friday, April 8, with special guest caller, Mike Sikorsky, a National Square Dance Caller and our own Connie Clark Cueing Rounds.  Wow!  What a dance.  Mike Sikorsky’s not only calls a fun, fast dance, but is fun to watch as he gyrates on the stage as he calls, he really gets into the music.  I’m glad we sold tickets and limited the number of dancers, the floor was full enough.  We had so many compliments on not only the dance, but our food we served at open break during the dance.  Our only complaint, it had to end.  Good job club members.

      Then, our club visitation to Toe Draggers at the Kinton Grange on Friday, April 15.  To our surprise, Sunset Promenaders from Hillsboro were also having a visitation so we filled the floor.  Toe Draggers Caller KC Curtis and Cuer Bev Flint put on a fun dance as always.

      Our April 16 dance had Renee Ruud co-calling with Club Caller Chuck Garner for our “All Gospel Dance”.  Renee and Chuck’s voices and choice of music was really fun and inspiring preparing us for Easter.
