Fleming College got $1 million from alumnus and businessman Duane Parnham.

Funds will also go toward upgrades and enhancements to the centre. About $200,000 will be used to create an endowed fund to provide financial assistance for students at the Frost Campus, the release states.

Parnham is a Burlington native who graduated from Fleming's Mineral Engineering Technology Program in 1985. Since graduation he has had a career as an entrepreneur managing resources-based companies in both Canada and Namibia, the release states.
